Election to the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Waterfront is a distinct honor and carries with it the responsibility of trusteeship of this unique community asset. The following guidelines are intended to focus Board members on the minimum expectations for membership. Active participation on a wider scope is encouraged.
Minimum expectations for Board members are as follows:
1. Attend Board Meetings - Board of Directors meetings are scheduled monthly, usually at noon on the first Wednesday of every month. Members are encouraged to attend at least eight meetings.
2. Membership Dues - Each Board member is required to be a member of the Friends of the Waterfront and pay annual dues of $200.
3. Fund Raising - Each Board member is required to purchase and/or sell at least six tickets to the Annual Silver Anchor Award fund-raiser.
4. Personal Interest - Each Board member should be informed about the progress of the Waterfront Park and its impact on our community.
5. Community Involvement - Each Board member is a spokesperson for the Friends of the Waterfront in the community and uses his/her influence to involve others in the activities of the Friends, including the Silver Anchor Awards.
6. Committee Participation - Each Board member is encouraged to serve on at least one committee.
