Friends of the Waterfront is excited to announce the start of a new blog series: Dogs of the Waterfront. With inspiration from Humans of New York, we plan to feature different dogs who are often found enjoying Louisville’s Waterfront Park to share photos and a little bit of information about them.
Age: 5 and a 1/2
Percy is a very happy and energetic pug who was caught playing with his owner down at the Waterfront recently. We stopped to ask him a few questions about what he enjoys most about Waterfront Park and Louisville, KY.
How long have you been living in Louisville, KY?
If you ask my mom, she’ll say that it’s only been a year, but it sure feels like longer than that to me! I’d say seven or so!
What’s your favorite thing to do down at Waterfront Park?
My favorite thing to do, ever, is chase the ball, but we don’t usually bring the ball with us when we come down to Waterfront Park. I love to run around in the grass and watch the boats from the steps while I catch my breath.
Where else do you like to go in Louisville?
Besides Waterfront Park, I like to go walking around the Germantown and Schnitzelburg neighborhoods. Sometimes mom will take me down to Nach Bar where we’ll sit outside with other dogs from the area!
What are you looking forward to that is happening at The Waterfront Park this summer?
I’m excited for the Fluer de Flea on Saturday, May 27th because I know my mom is looking forward to it! We’re going to spend the day looking at books, records, vintage finds, and eating from some of the food trucks that are going to be here!
