Friends of the Waterfront is back with a new installation in our Dogs of the Waterfront blog series. After being inspired by Humans of New York, we’re now featuring different dogs who are often found enjoying Louisville’s Waterfront Park.
Breed: Aussie mix
Bonnie is beloved by everyone that meets her and can really rock a mean kerchief. She lives with her mom and dad and is the big sister to another dog and three cats: Philip Seymour Pawffman, Sookie Stackmeowse, Bill Purray, and Freddie Purrcury.
How long have you been living in Louisville, KY?
I moved here in June 2015. It’s great here– I’ve made tons of friends!
What’s your favorite thing to do at Waterfront Park?
I like going down by the marina because my mom will let me off leash. Afterwards, we go for a long walk which I don’t always get to do because my brother Phil’s legs are too short and he gets tired.
Where else do you like to go to in Louisville?
My favorite place to be is at home with my mom, but I also love Dog Hill. Sometimes on Sundays, a bunch of us convince our humans to meet there to hang out, so I get to party with all my friends — and make some new ones!
What are some interesting facts about you?
Whenever someone I love comes to our house, I have to have a toy in my mouth or else I’ll bark from excitement! I was named after famous Texas outlaw Bonnie Parker of Bonnie & Clyde fame, but unlike her I am a very good girl.
What are you looking forward to that is happening at The Waterfront Park?
The Via Colori Street Painting Festival! I can’t see all the colors but I hear they’re great. I’m also excited for the cooler weather because as you can see, I am a very fluffy pupper.
