Friends of the Waterfront is back with a second installation in our Dogs of the Waterfront blog series. After being inspired by Humans of New York, we’re now featuring different dogs who are often found enjoying Louisville’s Waterfront Park.
Breed: King Charles Cavalier Spaniel
George, aka “Georgie”, is one of the most loving dogs in the city. He gets along with everyone he meets and was happy to tell us what he loves to do in Louisville!
How long have you been living in Louisville, KY?
I hail from a small town outside of Lexington, Kentucky, but I’ve lived in Louisville for most of my life!
What’s your favorite thing to do at Waterfront Park?
Down at Waterfront park, I love to take nighttime walks with my brother Edward, aka “Eddy”. I also love, love, love to meet other dogs that enjoy Louisville’s Waterfront like I do!
Where else do you like to go in Louisville?
I love walking around Central Park and seeing/chasing the squirrels that live there. Shakespeare in the Park is one of my favorite summer activities and I’m excited to see a couple of the plays this year! While I’m not a huge fan of water, I do enjoy lounging on pool floats during the hot summer months and I occasionally hang out near the Mag Bar.
If you work downtown, you’ll most likely see me heading in or out of the Glassworks building.
What are you looking forward to that is happening at The Waterfront Park this summer?
I’m excited for more summer night walks around the Waterfront and the Louisville Food Truck and Craft Beer Festival coming up in September! It should be a great time to meet other dogs and maybe snack on a few tasty treats!
